Emily Joy – EP Release

barricade.jpg

Australia’s Emily Joy releases her debut self-titled EP featuring contributions from Nashville’s elite today!

Emily Joy has experienced an exciting start to her recording career, with the release of her single ‘Barricade’ hitting Number 2 on the iTunes single charts, right behind Keith Urban. Being the highest placed Australian female artist was just the type of response that Joy was looking for.

“To hit #2 with my first release was an incredible feeling. Being right there alongside an artist like Keith was surreal. Hopefully if I work hard enough, I’ll get that #1 spot next time.” – Emily Joy

That chart spot was just the beginning for this Perth-based starlet, who is working her way through a load of radio interviews and press across the country since the single debuted. Joy is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that her music makes it to radio and in turn the ears of country music fans around the world. The lead single ‘Barricade’ was released in July and its accompanying music video has since received over 25,000 views across digital platforms. As it continues to gain chart traction across the continent, the time has come for the new EP to be released.

The self-titled recording will be released on September 10 and pre-orders have been very strong for the release.

“I’ve spent the past few years pouring my heart into these five songs that will introduce me as an artist. It’s been a long journey  to get to this point and I am so excited to see where the road leads next.”

From the stunning cover shot, to the heartfelt and earnest original songs, the record is sure to make people sit up and pay attention to Emily Joy’s arrival on the country music scene.

Working between Perth and Nashville, Joy managed to assemble a stellar line up of professionals to assist her in creating her dream record. The list includes Mike Johnson (Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Cyrus), John Willis (Shania Twain, Dolly Parton) as well as local producer Troy Nababan (Ragdoll) and upcoming talented, the Gallagher brothers. In addition, the EP was mixed by Aaron Chmielewski (Taylor Swift, Faith Hill) and mastered by Hank Williams (Keith Urban).

Compiling a long list of hits and chart toppers in the traditional country world, Richard Lynch is an award-winning American country music artist, reminiscent of the classics that started it all. The same passion and raw truth that fueled the likes of Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, and Hank Williams is sewn into the fabric of Richard Lynch. In a world of fabricated country stars, Richard Lynch stands out in the crowd as a proud member of the last of a dying breed, the pure country music artist. An Independent Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Richard’s rock solid country roots span 3 decades; it comes up with the sun each morning, and it settles in the music he writes and the songs he sings.. The spirit of Richard Lynch is that which is attached to the working man’s soul. It’s real and it’s timeless. It’s country, the way country was meant to be.

Living the life he sings about is what gives Richard Lynch the edge as a singer/songwriter. Richard is a hard working, blue collar man. He is a designer and builder of amazing barns, and as should be expected, he is an American farmer. His everyday life and paying his musical dues by performing at 100′s of events & shows a year, all across the country, is that which shaped him into a one-of-a-kind performer. Nashville, TN, August 11, ’16…Comedic bluegrass band, The Cleverlys, celebrate the release of their new five-song EP, “Cash Crop,” Friday, August 12 by giving fans a sneak peak of their video, “Loser,” on BluegrassToday.com today. Fans can also check out Rolling Stone Country’s exclusive premiere of the new track, “By The Way,” here.
Commenting on the group’s “stylized remake of Beck’s 1994, ‘Loser,’ with a bluegrass twist,” BluegrassToday.com remarked, “It’s a rip-roarin’ battle in the ring as Digger Cleverly and the boys turn Beck’s recitation into a groovin’ grass tune with tongues firmly implanted in their cheeks.”
Rolling Stone Country added, “Until the Cleverlys came along, it was nearly impossible to find bluegrass bands writing songs about podophilia (that’s a fancy word for foot worship), sharing tales of milking alpacas and mixing grassed-up covers of songs from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flo Rida and Beyoncé into their vast and delightfully strange repertoire.”
OneStopCountry.com remarked, “they also showcase that they are more than just a cover act and are in fact a bona fide bluegrass band …incredible harmonies, top-notch songwriting….they are able to showcase their extremely raw talent as they didn’t re-arrange the songs to make them fit the mold of what they do, but they rather took their style and fit it incredibly into where it by no means should fit as well as this.”

AUSTRALIA’S EMILY JOY RELEASES NASHVILLE COLLABORATION, EP TO FOLLOW
The debut single “Barricade” and music video from singer-songwriter Emily Joy is released today!

From Perth to Boston, Nashville to Tamworth, the last few years have been quite a journey for West Australian singer-songwriter Emily Joy. Her debut single Barricade is available today and is the first track off the upcoming EP, mixed by renowned Nashville engineer Aaron Chmielewski (Taylor Swift, Faith Hill) and mastered by Hank Williams (Keith Urban, Brad Paisley).

With an impressive half a million views on her YouTube channel covering ‘classic’ country songs, Emily’s first original song is highly anticipated.  Earlier this year, Emily’s cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ went viral on Facebook, reaching 1.2million people and was also featured on Buzzfeed.

Hailing from Perth, Australia – the most isolated city in the world, Emily has not let the massive distance (11,105 miles) inhibit her from collaborating with Nashville’s top players on her debut single. The song has become a celebration of connecting communities with upcoming Aussie talents also showcasing on the recording.

Barricade tells the story of heartbreak, a scenario where love simply isn’t enough. Refusing to move on, they both stand at the ‘Barricade’ that is keeping them apart; desperate with hope their love is on the other side.

The music video for Barricade was shot near Sydney by the Golden-Guitar winning Filmery team. It features a hedge maze with drones soaring above and the beautiful Harpers mansion in the background.

Emily’s musical upbringing and studies at the Berklee College of Music, University of Northern Colorado, Academy of Country Music and West Australian Academy of Performing Arts have seen become an all rounded musician at a young age. It is with her unique sound, relatable storylines and engaging presence that Emily captures the heart of storytelling and raises the bar one song at a time.

A prolific songwriter, Emily has crafted an array of songs that will make up her self-titled EP. Being a perfectionist at heart, this young artist managed to assemble a team of players for her record including Mike Johnson (Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Cyrus) and John Willis (Shania Twain, Dolly Parton). She did all of this by herself, as an independent artist, building her connections through grit and determination, demonstrating that there are few “Barricades” in her path.

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO ‘BARRICADE’

“What struck me is just how musical Emily actually is – I don’t mean she can just play a tune. She’s completely dedicated to music – it’s her life. I can tell you musicality is definitely a word that Emily Joy has it in spades and she is going to go far in the industry” – Big Stu, Planet Country
